The incredible tidal power of the Bay of Fundy might soon be harnessed to produce enough renewable energy to power eastern Canada. Fierce tides, like no other in the world, if harvested as planned by inventors and investors, could someday power up all of Atlantic Canada. Two projects designed to withstand the immense power of the Bay of Fundy tides are poised to begin production soon; megawatt turbines will be placed in the tidal stream and a set of smaller turbines will also be placed within the tide. With land regulations, NIMBY, and other constraints acting against land turbines, hydro turbines are the next frontier to provide leading edge renewable energy sources throughout the world.
